Morning Real Estate Review


Mortgage rates hit historic lows (Washington Post) Average 30-year fixed mortgage rates, which never seem to bottom out, have now hit 3.78%

Plans for redesigning the Mall are timid (CityPaper) Ideas for a few pavilions are a start in breathing some life into the Mall, but probably won't do much to engage locals.

Reports continue to show home prices declining (Mortgage news) One index shows housing prices down .6% in November, the 5th straight month of losses. And December numbers are looking worse.

Adams Morgan hotel plans change again (CityPaper) The ever evolving hotel has presented its latest response to local complaints.

Condo prices fall in 5 cities in November (Standard & Poors) The fall continues a downward trend in the 5 key cities, lead by Chicago. Washington D.C. was not on the list.
