Also, it looks like the former restaurant at the NW corner of NY and 6th is being torn down to make way for a 200 unit apartment building.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22305958.post-12635155771024235302012-04-02T20:13:55.761-04:002012-04-02T20:13:55.761-04:00Douglas probably wouldn't save these buildinga...Douglas probably wouldn't save these buildinga if it wasn't cost effective to do so. There's no particular merit to them and unless the cost to move was paid by some outside entity, all this does is encourage more resistance to productive development.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22305958.post-38084350186715193412012-04-02T13:23:19.090-04:002012-04-02T13:23:19.090-04:00Where are these historical gems being transported?...Where are these historical gems being transported? And surely there was a compelling reason, beyond an agreement with a private preservation group. Is the site within the Mount Vernon Triangle Historic District?

(BTW, a runt of a district, whose inventory of older buildings makes a mockery of the word "significant" in the preservation laws. Few have much architectural distinction, and none have historic distinction. If these qualify to be a historic district, anything can qualify, and HPRB's already outsized power is unlimited.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22305958.post-48096611810431417452012-04-02T12:40:14.638-04:002012-04-02T12:40:14.638-04:00And does anybody know what's happening just no...And does anybody know what's happening just north of that lot...seems like buildings on 7th and NY and 7th and L are being redone.Clarknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22305958.post-26343097783082526362012-04-02T09:56:21.373-04:002012-04-02T09:56:21.373-04:00Where are the buildings being moved?
