Good modern architecture takes the surroundings into consideration AND is creative at the same time.David Garberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00514522127258982490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22305958.post-27402366715453766572009-10-26T21:23:21.855-04:002009-10-26T21:23:21.855-04:00Go for the max allowed by zoning!

HPRB should vote in favor.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22305958.post-61355757184342007212009-10-26T14:15:02.965-04:002009-10-26T14:15:02.965-04:00I'm all for infill but this is just bad archit...I'm all for infill but this is just bad architecture. I love modern, but this building has no context to the neighboring properties at all. You have to take your surroundings in to consideration when designing. As a resident right up the street, this neighborhood welcomes development, and this is a busy commercial corridor where a taller building doesn't really seem to pose any issues. Is there a good way to submit comments to the board in support of this building?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09270753940835110704noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22305958.post-90065767758361918292009-10-24T09:47:22.222-04:002009-10-24T09:47:22.222-04:00I would love to see the empty lots on 9th St be us...I would love to see the empty lots on 9th St be used for infill development. Considering the mish mash of architectural styles along the street now, this building fits in quite well. It also supports the arts which is a very good thing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22305958.post-50751839767457072742009-10-23T13:34:29.640-04:002009-10-23T13:34:29.640-04:00While any fellow can see that the penthouses are k...While any fellow can see that the penthouses are key to making the project pencil. Any fellow can also see that the height and bulk of the proposed building is seriously out of proportion with the surrounding structures. I'd imagine that a setback after the third floor could mitigate this problem.Justinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14053563039099524872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22305958.post-80243658822813211562009-10-23T10:46:56.167-04:002009-10-23T10:46:56.167-04:00Let's hope this project gets approved and fast...Let's hope this project gets approved and fast.
